When we approached Dave to join our team of consultants we all had our fingers crossed. For many years we had seen Dave grow into a more than competent all round fishermen & as we all know he is no stranger to the world of Specimen angling. Dave brings us more than a passion for angling, his ability to anticipate underwater activities, his methods of bait presentation & overall fishing tactics makes him one of our most requested Fishing Adventure Stars.

PERSONAL

My fascination with all things watery led me onto a journey into angling at the age of 5. Back then many hours would be spent on the River Wey at Send where I then lived & although my family did not fish, my interest grew & slowly things came together. My daily walk to school would take me past my favourite lakes at Send. The long walks home would always include a diversion to see what catches had occurred throughout the days. The passion had started. By the age of 10 I was already a keen angler & at 12 years old I started to turn my attentions towards catching ‘bigger’ fish. After a year or more I gradually started to gain an interest in Carp fishing. As a youngster I would continually badger ‘those in the know’ to gain more information. Even in those days fishing was a way of life for me! Slowly but surely I learned my apprenticeship & waters of decreeing difficulties were tackled with success. My adventures soon took me to waters far & wide. Venues like Yateley, Frampton & Ashlea Pool. The next 25 years have been spent catching big fish of most species such as Pike, Chub, Bream, & Tench & Barbel. I have fished alongside many of the UK’S finest Carp & Specialist anglers & regard many of them as friends. In recent years I have competed in competitions such as the British Carp Angling Championships along with my partner Bryan Jarrett. Together we have won both the 2002 & 2006 events. As a result we both represented our country at national level against Russia during 2006.I have also worked closely with the fishing industry & currently have consultancies with Aqua Products, Daiwa, Hinders, & Korda Developments & Solar Tackle. I have contributed to all the major UK magazines at one time or another & have recently qualified as an angling coach. I look forward to sharing my experiences & expertise with you during 2007.
