 Orellana is one of the most famous reservoirs in Spain for pike & carp
fishing. It is the reservoir that serves the Guadiana River & in parts
has large populations of carp, pike & bass.
This immense expanse of water is very rich with crayfish & other natural
foods. The potential to produce some very big carp is such that they
have been caught to nearly 70lb.
Orellana is also home to large comizo barbel & have been caught in
excess of 35lb. The reservoir offers lots of very promising features in
the form of deep bays, points & islands - some of which are only visible
when the water level is low.
 Serena is Spain's largest reservoir built for the Zújar River, this
reservoir offers many fishing opportunities & huge fishing potential,
with large populations of carp & barbel & it is a paradise for carp
fisherman even though it can be considered a hellish paradise because of
the lack of trees on the banks.
Like Orellana, Serena is rich with natural food & underwater features &
has produced carp over 75lb. If you like the challenge of fishing big
lakes then a trip to the Orellana or Serena will be one not easily
forgotten.
