The River Ebro is the longest river in Spain & is a significant source of hydroelectric power & irrigation with large shoals of large carp & a huge head of Monster catfish; it is also host in making fishermen's dreams come true.

The Ebro flows from the Cantabria Mountains in the North, through the Pyrenees & Iberian Mountains & into the Balearic Sea of the Mediterranean between Valencia & Barcelona.

Once a modest trickle, until a series of dams were built which led to parts of the Ebro valley being flooded to form one of Europe's finest fisheries. The River & its various stretches have many a bay & dead arm, reed lined in parts, with shallow snaggy plateaus & deep troughs that form natural larders, & is best fished from a boat, although bank fishing in 2005 resulted in catch records to be proud of.

2006 will see regular captures of 200lb catfish in addition to 50/60lb common carp & possibly a 20lb Zander.
