Very happy to have Andrew on board, Ron’s eldest son and a very keen angler from an early age with fishing obviously running in his veins. Andrew brings a battery of previous experience when it comes to communicating with the public, his hardworking ethic will bode well on the banks as will his attention to detail. No stranger to big fish we look forward in hearing great reports from this next year’s effort.
PERSONAL
Having always been into fishing since I was a lad, it was in Africa that the addiction took hold, hooking and loosing large fish that would snap me up on the float tackle I was using egged me on to better things and once I moved back to the UK my fishing really took off, I was so keen to catch carp like I had seen in dads photos. It started on a small pit in Bedfordshire float fishing for crucian carp tench, then to a place called Emberton park catching small carp to mid double, tench to 5 lb and bream using hair rigs with multi coloured baits, not really knowing what I was doing but still catching. A local water that was hard to get into tempted me and eventually I got in, this lake is where I caught my first twenty and I started to learn more about bait, watercraft and finding fish, I have good memories of this place and the mates who fished there with me, eventually I ventured over to Oxford and linear fisheries where I caught many carp, the best being a 38.04 common carp. Helping to bring on baby carp to restock these lakes in oxford was for me a great thing as fish conservation is a must at all levels, some of the fish which we grew on are stunning lookers and I can’t wait till I can catch a 30lb carp that came from the batch of babies we grew. One day maybe!!…Trips to France came next my buddy Steve (last minute .com) and I had a few trips and caught some lovely fish. So from float chucker into carp angler and specimen hunter it was an easy choice to join the family business as a guide and look forward to guiding loads of big fish in the New Year.
